Menu Plan Monday - Week of January 10th!

So the first week back at work and school went smoothly.  We even managed to cook up some good meals to stay within our grocery budget and stay within our Pantry Challenge 2011 guidelines.  We continue on our Pantry Challenge this week and I have indicated in ( ) what we will be using from the pantry or freezer for our meals this week!

Monday - City Chicken (cream of chicken soup)
Tuesday - Chicken Noodle Soup (Egg noodles)
Wednesday - I have a work dinner - hubby is in charge!
Thursday - Meatball Subs (meatballs in freezer)
Friday - Hamburgers & French Fries (both in freezer)
Saturday - Toy Story 3 On Ice & Eat Out!
Sunday - Dinner with Family

  1. We just got back from a Disney vacation with 10 people. I got some great deals at hotels and one of the hotels had dinner so I didn't have to cook part of the time. By sticking to the same hotel chain, you can get free nights and other benefits. Sometimes we only ate two meals. Breakfast was free, so we ate a big breakfast and ate in the middle of the afternoon and a snack or two at night. Other days, we would take bagels and cream cheese or sandwiches with us. If you have one good balanced meal, then you really don't have to eat heavy meals the rest of the day. With 10 people, I was trying to keep the cost at 25 dollars or below for lunch. I had extra money when it was all over. We tried to avoid restaurants since they were very expensive with so many people. The months before the trip, I bought granola bars on sale and used double coupons. I also bought other snacks at deeply discounted prices. I was able to get good prices at hotels by contacting the specific hotel, talking to the manager, having information of offers from other hotels I was asking them to match, etc.
